ADVANTAGES OF ALPHA PIPES
SAFE & CONVENIENT CONNECTION
Our PPR pipe can be connected by hot melting. Large number of types is available to help customers with all kinds of piping system solutions. The unique design of 3 water-resistant grooves and contraction joint ensures the inserts with high performance and prevents from the water leakage.
The sound insulation of our pipe is better than the metal pipe. The sound of high-speed fluid and water striking will be absorbed by the pipe.
CORROSION RESISTANCE & SCALE FREE
Both the outside and inside surfaces are smooth, so the resisting force of flowing water is low. Blockage due to water scales and yellow stains on water basins and fish tanks can be avoided.
The light transmittance of the pipe is much lower than 0.2%. This advantage effectively prevents the algae and bacterium from growing and ensures the safety of the drinking water.
HEAT INSULATING & ENERGY SAVING
The coefficient of heat conductivity is only 0.5% over that of the metal pipes. The heat insulating and energy saving effects are very good when the pipes are utilized for hot water pipes.
The thermal conductivity is only 0.24W/mK, which is only 1/200 of that of metal. During the transfer of hot water, it needs no extra heat insulation layer.
LIGHT WEIGHT & HIGH STRENGTH
The specific gravity is only one-eighth over that of the metal pipes. The pressure resisting test strength is over 5Mpa (50kg/cm2),so the products have good ductility and impact resistance.
LONG SERVICE LIFE
The service life of the pipes can last 50-odd years under regular operating conditions.
FIELD OF APPLICATIONS
The PPR pipe produced by Alpha Emirates is widely used in the piping system for drinking water, due to its non-toxic, light, pressure-resistant and corrosion-resistant features. It is the optimal pipe material for family supply of healthy and safe water.

Some of the tests performed in Alpha Laboratories for ensuring permanent quality
MFI (MELT FLOW RATE) / MFI (MELT FLOW INDEX)
This test is used for simulating the flow movement of the material in extruder and injection machines before processing. The test provides unit temperature and time based information on the materials flow index. Test results provide information on possible behavior of the material during manufacturing process, quality standards for the test ISO 1133.
The material is passed through MFI device and its weight is determined separately in air and in fluid with known density according to ISO 1183 standard. After these weight values are obtained, the density of the material is determined.
This test determines the amount of energy absorption and possible applicable force on a unit area by free fall of materials with different weights. This test provides information about the behavior of material against various loads in sudden impacts. Standards in effect for this test are ISO 179 and ISO 180.
THERMAL CYCLE TEST
Pipes, attachments or joints must not leak when subjected to testing according to EN 12293 using parameters stated in TS EN ISO 15874-5. The test for flexible pipes is performed only upon declaration by the manufacturer that the pipe may be bent as shown. Bending radius must not be smaller than the declared smallest bending ra- dius. The test for all other cases is performed for rigid pipes.
THERMAL STABILITY TEST
When subjected to thermal stability test via hydrostatic pressure test at 110° C for 8760 hours according to EN 921 using a ﬁtting ﬁxed to the pipe or a pipe shaped test piece, there must be no explosion observed in the test piece. The test must be performed in water and in air by applying an inner pressure equivalent to the hydrostatic tension used in thermal stability test on pipe material. If a ﬁlling on pipes is used as a test piece and there is dam- age on the pipe joint, the thermal stability test must be repeated using a pipe shaped test piece.
INTERNAL STRUCTURE IMAGE TEST
This test is used for observing the ﬁber structure of the material. Purpose of the test is to ensure that the material has a homogenous structure. If the structure of ﬁbers is not linear, this means there is a problem caused by the manufacturing process or by the raw materials own quality.
THERMAL ELONGATION TEST
This test used for checking whether or not the longitudinal length changes on the materials due to temperature differ- ences are within standards levels. Standards for this test are EN 743.
Hydrostatic internal pressure resistance test for PP-R pipes is performed according to TS EN ISO 1167-1 and TS EN ISO 1167-2. Time and temperature values must be as stated in the table below according to TS EN ISO 15874-2 standards
MOMENTUM STRENGTH TEST
In addition to leak test, a resistance test is performed to determine whether or not the meal ﬁttings and plastic behave as a single piece, for PPR systems to operate at 95°C temperature, metal ﬁttings must endure 4kgm momentums.
